Summer Night Market

Mmmmm…. Richmond Summer Market! Yum in every corner. Modeled after traditional evening markets in Asia, the Richmond Summer Market will make you feel like you’re actually in Asia without the airplane ride. It opens at 6:30pm but by 7pm, it’s packed with people eyeing what they want to eat next. One part of the market is all food and the other side are filled with stalls selling sunglasses, electronics and other trinkets all made in Asia. But for us, we bypass that part of the market and go straight for the food. The food is truly amazing, cheap & authentic. You start off buying a few pieces of little steamed dumplings for $2. As you’re eating it, you walk to the next stall and order some more dim sum like siu mai & har gow and next, some bubble waffle. It’s never ending. It’s like a street food crawl! By the end of the night, you can’t even count how many of those little dumplings, bbq’s & okonomiyaki you have eaten. All you know is that your stomach is stuffed with so much goodness. So if you plan to go, make sure you bring a lot of small change & and an empty...

Beach Life

While it seemed like the rest of the world was enjoying hot weather, here in Vancouver we could only dream of beach days while still wrapped up in our spring attire. Finally, over the last few days, we’ve had the loveliest warm days and it seems like summer is officially here. We’ve all been patiently waiting. Living in a little seaside village where the beach is just a couple blocks away from our house and a bigger beach is just a bike ride away, our life in the summer is mostly spent at the beach. We spent the entire Sunday at the beach by our house and didn’t get home until later that evening. The water was really warm and Luna spent quite a bit of time in it while Peter was busy cooking up a storm. Not a bad Sunday at all. Welcome back...

1. I was trying to take some portrait photos of myself with the totes which proved to be quite challenging. I had the tripod set up with a timer but just before the timer goes off and the camera takes a shot, Luna jumps in front of the camera and does her own little pose. But I managed to take 1 decent shot with only me in it out of many with Luna in them. 2. Seawind & Willows has been my everyday tote on these warm sunny days. 3. Just playing around with some rhubarb & wooden blocks brought back by Peter from...

Impromptu Island Trip

Living only 10 min away from the ferry terminal, we decided to do an impromptu day trip to Vancouver Island. We actually had Salt Spring in mind but we missed the ferry and decided to go to Vancouver Island instead. It was the perfect day to be on a boat for a full day of Island adventure. It was Luna’s first time to ride a ferry and spent the hour & forty five minutes running around on the top deck checking things out. It was a fun day for all and I realized that impromptu trips like this should be done more...
